Many of you won't be aware, but our village ground maintenance person left the job some time ago.

We've also had Parish Councillors leave their positions, and one person on long term sick, as a result the Parish Council have been depleted, meaning there's been very little done for the last several months.

More importantly and something which has been an obstacle we simply could not overcome, we've not been quorate when it came to making decisions for quite some time.

Thankfully we now have 3 new Parish Councillors who have joined us and we are back in full swing especially now that Mick is also on the mend, meaning once again we have 7 Parish Councillors.

One of the first items on the agenda was the grounds maintenance contract for the areas of the village covered by the Parish Council, of which there were only two companies reply to the tender.

We are pleased to announce JW Services who is also based in the village, won the contact and has already started the ground maintenance in the Church Yard. He will also be moving onto the cemetery and Play Parks as soon as he can.

We were scheduled a visit by a large tractor mower a week last Sunday, but due to the sudden heavy downpours, they were unable to attend.

Please rest assured this is on the radar and we hope to have the village back in good shape soon.

If you have a desire to look after your village, have your say and help shape and maintain this lovely place we live in and have a few hours per month spare, please consider joining your Parish Council.

We are all volunteers and do this alongside busy work and family life, so every contribution helps.
