I am writing to provide an update on the resurfacing of the the A1 between Apleyhead (A57/A614 junction) and Newark (A17/A46 junction).

Phases 1, 2, and 3 are now complete and we are on target to complete these works on 19 July 2025.

Phase 4 is progressing well. A full lane closure is in place between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday on the A1 northbound carriageway between Newark and Apleyhead. A fully signed diversion route is in place via the A616 and A614. The lay-bys within our closure remain closed during the day, Monday to Friday.

We have two upcoming weekend closures from 8pm until 6am on 14 & 15 June 2025 and 28 & 29 June 2025. There will be a closure from Barrowby for the main diversion, a relaxed closure for local traffic before a full closure at Balderton closing the Newark exit and entry slips.

Advanced notification of all full closures on England's motorways and major A roads can be found at www.nationalhighways.co.uk under Daily Closures.

We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we approach the final stages of this resurfacing scheme. Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch.

Kind regards,
